Instructors

Alan Kazuta (Godan)

Alan started practicing karate at the UBC dojo in September, 1971. Alan eventually helped lead practices at UBC until he moved to North Delta and opened the North Delta dojo in 1984.

Alan has traveled internationally to participate in special events celebrating the practice of Shotokan Karate. Twice a year he also attends practices in Santa Barbara led by Mr. Ohshima.

In 1986, Alan was recognized as the first recipient of the SKA Member of the Year for the Canada West region. Alan is a director of Canada Shotokan Karate Society and a member of the Board of Directors of Shotokan Karate of America.

Ching Wee (Sandan)

Ching started practicing with Alan on March 1, 1990. He has been leading both youth and adult practices since 1993. In June of 2002, Ching became a sandan.

Ching has attended several SKA (Nisei Week) and CSK (Goodwill Cup) tournaments. He has travelled to Eastern Canada, Washington, and California to practice and has attended practices lead by Mr. Ohshima in Santa Barbara.
